ScaleDB provides a clustered analytic database for streaming time-series data. It is delivered in two forms, as a single instance—ScaleDB ONE—and as a cluster ScaleDB Cluster.

ScaleDB ONE

ScaleDB ONE is a single node or single server version of the ScaleDB technology. It includes the two-tier software operating in a single physical or virtual server. As a result, there is no need for a cluster manager, since there is no cluster to manage.

ScaleDB ONE is ideal for experiencing the power and functionality of ScaleDB. It delivers streaming velocity that rivals NoSQL databases and, depending upon your actual usage, typically operates at 300%-500% of the throughput of native MySQL on similar hardware. Please note that ScaleDB is optimized for running analytic processes over streaming data; it is not a replacement for MySQL in addressing OLTP workloads.

ScaleDB Cluster

ScaleDB Cluster is a two tier architecture, comprised of Database nodes, Storage nodes and the ScaleDB Cluster Manager. Components are redundant to guarantee high availability and no single point of failure. Scalability is provided by adding more Database nodes, for an increasing number of connections and analytics that require a complex “consolidated” view, and more Storage nodes, for an increasing demand of storage capacity and parallel processing at storage level.
